About His Harmony
His Harmony was formed in 1993 in the Dallas area. We
began with original members Dave Edmonds on bass – Gene Edmonds – lead – and
Bruce Patterson on Baritone/first tenor. For a brief period of time Steve
Duncan was our first tenor. When Steve moved away, we were joined by Steve
McClelen (who left in 1996 to further his education). Terry Burton joined us
to become our baritone and/or lead singer. In 2009 Steve McClelen rejoined
us and now sings first tenor, lead and baritone. In the fourth quarter of
2010, we recruited Aubrey Eudy. a first tenor, lead, and/or baritone singer
-to become our sixth member of His Harmony. We can humorously refer to
ourselves as a “quartet and a half”. and with three guys capable of singing
first tenor – we often can’t decide “who’s on first” on any certain song.
His Harmony's programs consist, for the most part, of Southern Gospel.
Southern Gospel is written in such a way that it has entertainment value as
a Christian alternative to secular music. As a rule, we choose each song we
sing to encourage Christian living - its joys and challenges – to express
thankfulness, and keep our eyes focused on the goal of a higher calling.
We have made many wonderful friends as we present our message in song. God
has truly blessed us. We receive requests for our CD’s from practically
every area of our nation. We have recorded more than 150 songs on 10 CD’s.
Over the years we have been privileged to be included in opening concert
with nationally famous groups – The Cathedral Quartet – The Bishops – and
the Kingsmen. We have sung at many camp activities, including the Red River
Family Encampment in Red River, N. M. We have taken part in local theaters
including the Gilmer Yamboree – the Dogwood Theater in Palestine, and many
local theater presentations.
His Harmony generally keeps a busy schedule – as we make ourselves available
for many various church functions. The highlight of our year takes place
during the annual Church of Christ Week in Branson, Mo., in which Christians
from all over our nation gather during the second weekend in October each
year.
